July Safety Awards
Congratulations to each member of the 7 departments for their fantastic efforts in continued safety. As we grow, safety awareness is shown by the number of teams being recognized each month. From the latest count, approximately 82% of our entire employee base is on board with the MFV Safety Program. It’s much easier to be Proactive rather than Reactive when it comes to safety. Being Proactive fixes the problem before it results in downtime or injury to a team member. Being Reactive results in downtime occurring and greatly raises the bar for a work-related injury or accident. Stay ahead of the curve and address the issue before it becomes a problem.
Many thanks to each of these teams for their continued support and desire to be safe while at work!
Mike Brown

NC LNM | 2 Years
ProAg NC | 2 Years
NC Wolf | 3 Years
EBW Pre-Fab | 5 Years

Congratulations to all for your continued focus on safety!
August Safety Trainer - Respect Sharps
Improper handling or disposal of needles and other sharps, such as scalpels, broken glass, and razors, can result in serious infections, including the Hepatitis B virus (HBV), the Hepatitis C virus (HBC), and the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), which causes AIDS. If you work around sharps, take precautions to limit your exposure.
Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Use forceps or other devices to pick up sharps.
Reduce exposure hazards by using needleless or recessed-needle systems.
Keep sharps container regularly inspected and readily accessible.
Respond immediately to exposure incidents and follow up with the supervisor.
